About Mark

Mark is a Philadelphia native who has been playing the ukulele for 4 years and is excited about sharing his own discovery of strumming patterns and how various strums can be used for the same tune. He owns 2 Ukulele's and mostly plays his Soprano from Magic Fluke (Koa wood body with a Walnut neck)

When Mark is not strumming, he is a CPA / MBA Financial & Business Analyst working with data analysis, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
And when not working, spends his time horseback riding, motorcycle riding, and world traveling. No, he is not a spy!

Of all the years I've been teaching ukulele, I get the most questions about strumming and finding the beat of a song.  I'm really excited to let you all in on a new continuing uke ed class I'll be teaching called Strum SessionsIt will be weekly for the 1st 3 weeks of the month on Thursdays on zoom from 6:30-7:30pm.    How it works:

1.  Click on the button to register for each individual class

  • Click on “Strum Session” picture

  • Click “Add to Cart”

  • Locate cart in upper right corner of screen, click

  • Click “checkout”

  • Enter all information in checkout page

  • Click “purchase”

  • You’ll receive an “order confirmed” email that you’ve purchased the class

2.  Shortly after, you will receive an email with the song we'll be working on and the zoom link

3.  The first few classes will be donation based. As of right now I can accept donations through venmo (Crystal Murphy Music- no spaces) or we can arrange something privately.

4.  Feel free to spread the word to any other players who might be interested!
