Sans Blix is an electronic due spawned from the Phoenixville, PA region. Their unique sound relies heavily on building up loops and layers to create a deep sonic wall that can be at once psychedelic and metallic, and is paired with visual projections and lights during live performances.
Formed in the summer of 2013, the pair first performed together live for a private party, improving beats and loops, having never played together before this chance encounter. Afterward, the two sat down and discussed collaborating on a more permanent scale and within a few months, several songs were written and Sans Blix was born. Prior to the genesis of Sans Blix, Devin was known as a solo artist Fox Affair, a one man synth-pop dance party. Bob was performing with the locally loved Qwirk, a three (now four) piece, mostly instrumental, math rock band. For Blix, Devin controls synths, drum loops, samples, and provides main vocals, with Bob on guitar and providing supplemental synths and vocals. Both have been playing music most of their adult lives, spawning several different band incarnations.
In Fall of 2014 Sans Blix released a self-recorded, self-titled EP. Three years later they opted to bring their sound into the studio to begin work on their sophomore EP, due out in summer of 2017. Sans Blix can be categorized as indie/electronica with influences ranging from James Blake, Beck & Sylvan Esso.
